You Are What You Eat Coaching & Classes

I had to learn fast about food when I became allergic to pretty much all so-called "normal" foods during my early 20s.

I was an extreme case. I had probably always been sensitive to some foods, but this was kept at bay by being brought up on a healthy whole food diet. When I left home and started eating a SAD* diet, I quickly ended up with severe problems, even being hospitalised twice.

When things calmed down, I still battled with chronic inflammation & debilitating eczema-like infections over much of my body for many years.

My poor youngest baby was born with the same conditions and had to be bandaged for much of her first year until we had it under control.

After slowly healing from all this,  by radically changing my diet,  I now truly value the role that diet plays in our health and vitality more than ever before.  I never want to go back to that.

I can offer you some hope and an escape from severely debilitating symptoms when you are at your wits end with doctors simply prescribing more steroid creams.

When the doctors just leave you to get on with it alone with only a packet of ineffective calcium pastys, I can help you to build stronger bones.

I can show you simple, affordable ways to add more plants to your diet and your life without spending hours in the kitchen.

I can teach you how to eliminate common foods without feeling like you are always going without.
You don’t have to turn vegetarian or vegan,  though I can happily support you with that if you want.

EVENT CATERING SERVICES

Along with my partner & fellow foodie, we offer catering for events in Cambridge and the surrounding areas.  We create the perfect menu for the occasion and your budget.

Although I am a lifelong veggie and cook mostly vegan and gluten-free, my partner is not, so between us we can cater for most dietary needs,  including vegetarian and vegan, as well as being very experienced in avoiding allergens, so we can cater for wheat-free, gluten-free, lactose-free, soya-free, and more.

Contact us if your event needs some great food.

Food Facts

  • Poor diet, ultra-processed foods, and the malnutrition & inflammation caused by them are linked to ALL the leading causes of death.
  • The rise in the consumption of UPFs runs parallel with the rise in all of these conditions.
  • The UK is second in the world for consumption of UPFS; only America eats more of them than we do. Though, sadly, much of Europe is slowly catching up.
  • Making diet changes can affect your menopause symptoms as much as taking HRT without the side effects. Studies have shown a 35% reduction in menopause symptoms among groups that made healthier food choices.
  • Many people have never been shown the basics of cooking from scratch. So there's no need to feel silly if you can't manage more than boiling some pasta.

  • Most people would greatly benefit from eating a wider variety of fruit and veg, as well as less wheat and less meat.
  • There is so much misinformation around about diet and food, and even our doctors don't generally know anymore than the average person, as they do not study nutrition during medical school.

Chronic inflammation is often triggered by modern diets high in ultra-processed foods (UPFs), refined sugars, and heavy meat intake. Whole, plant-rich foods are naturally packed with antioxidants, phytonutrients, and healthy fibers that actively soothe the gut lining and cool the body's inflammatory response. By introducing a wider variety of seasonal plants, many people experience a significant drop in systemic inflammation, leading to less joint pain, improved digestion, and clearer mental focus.

Yes, clinical studies show that making targeted dietary changes can reduce many common perimenopause and post-menopause symptoms including, joint pain, insomnia, hot flushes, night sweats, brain fog, and fatigue, by up to 35%. as well as les obvious ones like bone density, and other logevivity markers. Focusing on blood sugar stabilising whole foods, phytoestrogen-rich plants, and anti-inflammatory ingredients helps stabilise shifting hormones and protects your long-term bone and cardiovascular health during midlife.

No, not at all! You do not need to adopt a strict label to experience the health benefits of plant-based cooking. Most people thrive simply by reducing their reliance on wheat and factory-farmed meats while increasing the diversity of the plants they consume. Whether you are a lifelong omnivore looking to add a few plant-based meals to your week, or someone looking to transition fully to from scratch vegan home cooking, my classes are designed to meet you exactly where you are.

I offer interactive online sessions as well as select in-person cooking lessons depending on my schedule and your location. My coaching focuses on from scratch plant based cooking foundations; adapted to your specific needs. Eg for better bones, to help heal eczema ridden skin, for gut health, or menopause relief. I teach you how to utilise seasonal produce, local foraged ingredients, and pantry staples. I focus on affordable, and time-efficient techniques so you can confidently prepare health-supportive meals without spending hours tied to the kitchen.
