Sometimes self care is…..
fill in the blanks with what you have done to fill you cup today…
in an ideal world /on a good day self care will be filling your cup
doing something you enjoy or that is really good for you.
on a bad day it might simply be something to stop your head from feeling like it exploding like getting out into nature.
on the worst days it might be as simple as doing usual everyday things such as brushing your teeth., or having a shower and changing out of your pajamas or minging trackie.
(don’t judge me. I know I’m not the only one who has let those slip on those worst days..)
This weekend has been a bit like that for me .
panick and overwhelm hit me hard, i didnt do any of the things i had planned to do, or mcuh else tbh.
But the effort I put in to pick the stuff from the garden
and make a salad for supper
and thus eat something nutritious instead of some chips or pizza…
that act of self care def paid off.
If I say so myself it was bloody delish….
All out of the garden…
(1100 m high up a mountain!) except a tiny bit of local goats cheese and the home made bread.
taste buds a tingling …
check it out below, and ill pop the recipes underneath….
If you grow foodie things in your garden or in pots in your balcony, youve probably got most of the ingredients there right now too ….

so what is in this delicious, but never before thought of ( by me anyway) combination?
simple, super simple,
all fresh picked from the garden….
some lettuce
some parsley
some fresh peas
some redcurrants… I ended up putting alot more that I thought i would in and that was just the right amount!
and I charr fried the first corgette from the garden, ( slice and fry on a hot heat, until it’s starting to char round the edge… then flip and do the same on the other side but dont burn it, it still wants to b juicy…. – trust me its lush!)
I mixed it all together with a tiny bit of local goats cheese chopped into tiny bits a splash of olive oil and a good glug of balsamic vinegar.
and served it with a fat wedge of homemade seedy spelt bread.
that was It
so simple and yet so delish.
try it I think you will like it!
do let me know if you do.
i love to hear from you….
